I thought it was time to comment here on the weather, which seems to be extraordinarily cold all over the northern hemisphere, whilst Australia has suffered the hottest summer on record.

Here's what some scientists are saying. A member of my family, who knows a thing or two about climate and weather, drew this article to my attention. For the answer, we need, surprisingly, to look north.

Well, I dunno WHAT the weather's problem is, dear Char (peace, luv!), but I'm starting to think "it's" female... and thus exercising its "prerogative" to "change" its "mind" as it wants and wills. Given the weather HERE lately, I'm also beginning to think "she's" experiencing menopause. Hot, then cold, then hot, then cold... then just right... then too cold, then too hot... then hot, then cold... then just right... then...

And her "mood" seems to either suck or be cheery with each change!

I'm thinking her ol' man (JAH) is probably holed up in His man-cave, empty beer cans all over the floor, TV blaring "nothing," head in hands, crying and wonderin' "Oh, gawd, when will this be OVER???!"

Can somebody give "her" a patch already? I mean, some DO call her "Mother" Nature...

LOLOLOLOLOL!

Peace!

Shellama, on her own... and just about sick o' this heif'a...

Hot weather?

What's that?

Seems to me I ought to remember, but it's been soooo long!

So much has been sensationalist; and so much has been in contradiction with other experts... I find it impossible to know which scientists and claims are correct...if any, at least on this matter.

Here, every year we seem to make the same complaints. "never been this hot before" "never been this cold before" "never had this much snow before"

Never, never, never... every year

Honestly, though, I don't know enough about the issue to comment.

Peace,
tammy

More official announcements fro the UK Meteorological Office.

Britain has just suffered its joint coldest March ever. The other was 1947.

I actually remember that. I don't remember, but was told by my father, that I, just turned three, wandered off and got buried in a snow drift. The whole village turned out to search for me and when they dug me out found me blissfully asleep!

I don't seem to have suffered any lasting ill effects and it certainly didn't put me off snow! I used to love playing in it which was probably how I came to wander off in the first place!

When I say I remember that winter, I really do. Toddlers then were bundled up into what were called siren suits, warm navy blue mini replicas of Winston Churchill's favourite wear, called siren suits from the air raid sirens that used to sound all the time all over London and every other place of any size. I remember being wrapped up in my warm siren suit, a woolly bonnet on my head and two pairs of socks inside my wellingtons!

I remember going through a really crappy winter, long and cold, that lead into no spring at all BUT right into a really freaking hot and humid summer.

I don't know reallllly what the problem is but......
Where I come from up north it is standard to have a 7 month winter ( snow and or freezing weather) 1 month of spring, which is real bad with allergies and mega mosquitos, then a HOT summer for 2 months, then 2 months of fall.
That has been our normal for years!

Which is why I had come to dislike greatly the 7 -8 months out of the year.

Just my .02
