May you all have peace.

This is just a fun thread, but today, I had my car in to a local and small auto mechanic shop, Zippy's, for an estimate on problems and repairs... never been there before, but he had some reviews about being trustworthy, so I decided to try him. Would rather give my money to a small business anyway.

The mechanic obviously gives free estimates, but while checking everything out (and nothing is dangerous, just some things need to be done pretty quick to avoid more expensive problems), he also fixed my windshield wiper for free that hasn't been working for the last few months. Apparently it just needed a bolt tightening. I know it is a small thing, but he didn't have to do it at all, and he doesn't have any real assurance that I am coming back to him for the repairs.

It just goes toward the honesty and trustworthiness that he got in the review that brought me there in the first place (and location, lol) Whereas the one big name place that I have been taking my van to charges for everything, including estimates; they even charged me for a part once just to order it and then never called me back with it. It wasn't expensive and I just 'whatever'd' it.

Then, since it is a power-steering-and-something-else-leak that I have, my van started making the whine noise again, and I went back to mr. lube (I had an oil change from them last week... they are the ones who told me about the leak) just to get them to top it up until next week when I can get it fixed... and they laughed, recognizing me, and told me to drive in, then topped it up, and waved my money away, saying it was complimentary.

Well, that was pretty awesome to me also, and I just wanted to share.

Peace to you,
tammy

Since I have awakened to TTATT, I have been a lot more observant of people. I've watched families at restaurants praying together. I've seen people do acts of kindness that I never noticed before. It reminds me of what Paul said about people who by nature do the things of the law. I like that. People aren't so bad after all.

Good morning Tammy....

Glad your experience was good...
There are some pretty cool people out in the world. One of biggest things that I am now ashamed to have said at the time of our coming out of the WTBS is that when I started truly observing parents of children, because mine were all young but different ages when we left, 6, 8, and 12 is that....
There were "worldly people" LOL that truly loved and cared about their kids. It was always engrained in me that the world doesn't love their children the way JWs do! :8O

Wow!!! Come a long way from that baggage now...LOL!!!!!
Heck I'm one of those so called worldly people in their eyes, and I love my kids to death (now grown)

Thanks for sharing this....
Love and peace to you Kim

I can SO relate, dear Tams (peace, luv!). For the past 10 years I have struggled with gardeners (unfortunately, neither dear hubby nor I have green thumbs... OR the desire to mow the lawns and so we pay someone to do it). We pay a fair fee... but man, we always received not even the minimum of service. One guy all but destroyed my formerly beautiful lemon tree (the poor thing, once lush and green and fibrant now is always yellow/sallow looking... after the idjit took a pruner to is and absolutely mangled it! It's now a deformed shape and I KNOW it suffered when he massacred it!!).

I had dear hubby fire the penultimate gardener because, after 7 years of paying him to do the front AND back... for which is almost always overlooked the back but we didn't want to cheat HIM... he tried to cheat us even more. The year before, when we asked how much to put sod in the backyard, his quote was $452. A year later (because we didn't follow through), we asked again and his bid was... over $1100!! Wait... again, this is a man we not only paid FAITHFULLY... but even when he DIDN'T perform (which was often). Not even the little things (like, please... replace the broken sprinkler heads, already! No, I had to do that myself, literally). So, after 7 years, I'd had enough.

We replaced him for a short while with someone who, always at our door for his FULL fee... didn't even do as much as the one before! Then... let all of my grass die! I kept telling him the grass was dying and he gave me some melarkey about it being winter and grass "always looking like that" during the winter. Mind you, we'd been in this house 10 years... and it never looked like THAT... not even in the winter.

And so... I had dear hubby fire him... and was about to just take over the task myself... be God and Christ OBVIOUSLY felt pity... for the GRASS... because they SENT us someone!! "Jorge" came to our door in February and said "Jesus Cristo" had "sent" him to us. I kid you not. He offered to do our yard FREE for a month, and then, if we liked him, take him on at his fee (which was only a little more than we had been paying).

Lemme tell you... our dear Lord must have sent dear Jorge... because that dear man has worked his BUTT off bringing our yard back! He has planted flowers (NO ONE ever planted flowers, except me!), dug up ALL of the dead patches and replaced them with sod... checked and replaced all broken/inefficient sprinkler heads, pruned everything and cleared out ALL of the dead wood (Oh! I HAVE to give kudos and thanks AGAIN to dear Finalcall - peace to you, my brother! - who pruned one of our tall trees... BEAUTIFULLY... PERFECTLY... THANK you, again!... you have a gift!). Much of which dear Jorge did during February... his "free" month. Of course, we paid him. He didn't want to take it but, c'mon... no way we could have take advantage of all the work he did! It was a LOT... and we are SO grateful!

My point is that, yes, there ARE good people out there... who are not of the Body of Christ... and certainly are NOT Jehovha's Witnesses. I don't know what dear Jorge's religion is, I don't care... but we both always thank "El Senor" for having found each other: me, for having someone willing to work and care for my yard for a fair fee... and he, for the work.

He, and folks like the mechanics dear tec mentioned are, like dear LQ (peace, luv!) said, "those who do by NATURE the things of the Law," some of to whom our dear Lord will say:

"To the extent you did it to the least of these my brothers... you did it to me! Come... INHERIT THE KINGDOM PREPARED FOR YOU from the throwing down of the seed!"

Just like bad people are everywhere, good people are everywhere, too. Which is why Christ gave his life... IN BEHALF OF THE WORLD. Not just Jehovah's Witnesses.

Peace to you, all!

YSSFS of Christ,

Shellamar

That was awesome Shelby! Loved that about Jorge! Also loved that God and Christ must have felt pity... for the grass ; ) LOL.

And yes, Leaving... totally agreed about such people being those who do the requirements of the law BY nature. Thank you for bringing this thread around to our Lord!

JM, one of the things that bothered me as I was doing my study with the jws, was how much and how harshly I was beginning to judge other people... other than jws. I did not know much of anything at that time (which was why I loved LEARNING), but I did know that by the "fruit" the jw teachings were producing in ME, that this was a bad place for me to be in.

Peace to you all,
tammy
