As did trusting in ourselves, dear 'Mom (mornin and peace to you, luv!)... which often a precursor, if not a result and consequence, of trusting in man. In teaching their false doctrine of being/having (the) truth, the WTBTS also foments a sense of knowing... or gnosis... that leads her adherents to think THEY... INDIVIDUALLY... are (also) smart ("SURELY... I... must be smart, VERY smart, because I have/have 'been in' [the truth] for..."). They don't know... have absolutely NO idea... that:
1. Because it comes from what is really a very small, even tiny, and GREATLY limited "source"... in comparison to what is out there to BE known (in the world, which they don't KNOW they're a part of but absolutely are!)... the SCOPE of their "knowledge" and "truth" is commensurately tiny and limited;
2. It's absolutely NOT of the origin they THINK it is, but something much darker and more sinister.
They don't KNOW this because they lean on their OWN understanding... as a group AND individually. Yet, most lack not only the COMMON SENSE to see that some of what they're being led to believe makes NO sense at ALL... PHYSICALLY... but the HUMILITY to see where it makes absolutely no sense SPIRITUALLY:
“‘How can YOU men say: “We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us”? Surely, now, the false stylus of the secretaries has worked in sheer falsehood. The wise ones have become ashamed. They have become terrified and will be caught. Look! They have rejected the very word of Jehovah, and what wisdom do they have? Therefore I shall give their wives to other men, their fields to those taking possession; for, from the least one even to the greatest one, each one is making unjust gain; from the prophet even to the priest, each one is acting falsely. And they try to heal the breakdown of the daughter of my people lightly, saying: “There is peace! There is peace!” when there is no peace. Did they feel shame because they had done even what was detestable? For one thing, they positively COULD NOT feel ashamed; for another thing, they did not know even HOW to feel humiliated.
That's the problem with one thinking THEY know... anything. It is a haughty spirit... which spirit CAN'T feel shame. It does not know HOW to feel shame... because it is HAUGHTY. And shame requires a humbling... LOWERING... of oneself... before God. Which they do NOT do, but raise THEMSELVES up, rather being raised up ("Come up HERE... and I will show YOU..." Revelation 1:1; 4:1).
UNLIKE Christ who, for the GLORY that was set before him... OFFERED him... by God Himself... DISDAINED shame (i.e., was concerned so little about BEING shamed... as being hung on a pole as a criminal was meant to MEAN... so as not to be AFRAID of being shamed or DETERRED by it, but WELCOMED it as PART of HIS "torture pole" - Matthew 5:10, 11
These entirely MISS, however, that the BEGINNING of knowledge... TRUE knowledge... and TRUTH... starts with REVERING the MOST HOLY One of Israel, JAH of Armies. One does not... CAN not... revere Him, though, and ignore His VOICE... by means of ignoring the voice of His Word, the HOLY One of Israel and Holy Spirit, JAHESHUA, the Chosen One of JAH (MischaJah). Because THAT is the One designated to LEAD Gods people... who these claim to BE... into ALL truth. Him... and not some group of men who seat themselves in the seat of Moses.
Yet, these do ignore that One. Daily. And most importantly on their one special day... which they CLAIM is dedicated to him. But they are liars. Not only do they not listen to him as to what THEY should DO on that day... if not EVERY day... but they deign to preclude others from listening and doing! In their own so-called and self proclaimed knowledge, they deign to say who should and who should not partake of the manna and water by means of which Israel... AND ALL THOSE WHO GO WITH... are meant to LIVE!! Numbers 11:6; John 6:48-58; 7:37-39: 1 Corinthians 10:1-5
Well, not THIS servant girl. Those ignorant, condescending yahoos will NOT dictate to ME as to whether I serve God and Christ or not, whether I LISTEN to God and Christ (as opposed to them!) or not, whether I gain entry into the kingdom or not, whether I gain life or not... and so, whether I partake of the flesh and blood of Christ... or not. On my own... OR among them. It is not THEIR place to say. It is not THEIR place to even worry as to whether I or ANYONE does or does not.
It is ONLY for THEM to listen to the voice of the Fine Shepherd... and DO... JUST SO... as well!
Yet, for all if their haughty knowledge... they still can't even grasp THAT... very SIMPLE... truth.
Or, that if THEY don't humble THEMSELVES... they will BE humbled. If not by JAH Himself... then by man. I've learned from my Lord that it is easiest on one if one does it for oneself.
Hence, the call... to get OUT of her. Because she WILL receive her plagues, as will those still IN her when she does. Who knows, though. Maybe there's still time before that occurs. But maybe even death won't hide those whose HEARTS remain in her.
