So, what, like there couldn't be any plants on the ark (peace to you all)? No seeds? And no insects? What about larvae? Chrysalises? Cocoons...? Truly, no ticks? Lice? FLEAS??

And what of insects, amphibians, etc. that burrow?

Such short-sightedness! LOLOLOLOL!

Peace!

A slave of Christ,

SA, who thinks mayhaps Noah and company actually has WAY more insects than they cared to have

Ahhhhh..My girl ((Shelby!))..
You always bring something to the Table..

I believe there was a flood..
A huge catastrophe..
But..
It was limited to a certain area..
It`s what created the Black Sea..
I`m sure the people thought it was global..

Bible stories have to be taken into context..
I try to be open to Bible Stories
I also try to be open to Educated Historical Theologians..
I find they bring balance to the conversation..

I've always taken it as read that Noah will have thought of all of this. Lice and fleas would have been taken care of, because their food just walked on board, two by two!

And with all his obvious foresight. Noah will have made sure that the animals will have been taken care of, and anyway the seeds and microbes and what not will have been airborne just as they are when the cross huge stretches of ocean nowadays and seed themselves on far flung islands.

Funny thing. I somehow never worry about that, though I follow all science closely and can never understand why people try to creaste a conflict between science and fasith...I don't somehow like to say religion because in some circles it gets used pejoratively. Faith encompasses it.

I wonder if this is the moment to introduce a favourite picture of mine? if I can manage to get it to post iself on here, that is? LOL!

Here goes...No, it didn't work.

Outlaw, or anyone, how can I post a picture on here, please?

All the animals that missed the ark boarding each gathered plants and insects deep into their local cave systems and rode out the flood within subterranean air pockets duh

Also the story of Noah is that region's account of the flood. It's possible that God also spoke to other people in other regions to build an ark ;P

Such is my faith in God that I just know he'll have taken care, through Noah, of all of that.

How he did it....well, as to that, if he can create the Earth and the Universe, I don't think the Ark was such a problem!

The parts of this thread that focus on Noah and the ark have thrown up some interesting ideas along with the seaweed:

Criminy - I have begun wondering lately if some of the stories in Genesis; Noah and the ark, Adam and Eve and the original sin, etc... might not be allegorical rather than literal.

Hellpuppy - I don't think the entire earth was flooded but just the land that Noah was in.

Red - After the flood ended and they opened the door they all exited the Ark(just as Adam & Eve left Eden) and as they left the Ark they became PHYSICAL again. Every living thing in the Ark including Noah and his ENTIRE family descended back into fleshly bodies.

PaulSacramento - First off, there is NO reason to view the flood account as global

AGuest - …water confines spirits. Thus, while any flesh that was outside the ark would have died (due to drowning), any spirit being would have been imprisoned by the water.

Tec - I have always had the feeling that the story is both... literal and 'spiritual.

Justmom - For some they may choose to believe these accounts are fictional but for me I have to faith in what I hear and see.

Hellpuppy - I am not trying to convince anybody that anybody's interpretation isn't correct or that mine is the correct way. I am just sharing my thoughts up to the discussion to how i view and understand what I know thus far.

Gladiator - All religions and cultures have their mythology, legends, myths and folklore. They are rarely taken literally.

OUTLAW - Everyone talks about the Animals on Noahs Ark.. Never Plants..All the Plants would have died.. Theres still brussel sprouts..Brussel Sprouts should be dead..

AGuest - So, what, like there couldn't be any plants on the ark (peace to you all)? No seeds? And no insects? What about larvae? Chrysalises? Cocoons...? Truly, no ticks? Lice? FLEAS??

Hellpuppy - All the animals that missed the ark boarding each gathered plants and insects deep into their local cave systems and rode out the flood within subterranean air pockets duh

Chariklo - How he did it....well, as to that, if he can create the Earth and the Universe, I don't think the Ark was such a problem!

My apologies if your idea was not included.

Now when it comes to matters relating to the Bible I am unable to shed any light on this matter. Instead, so as to not be left out, I have invented an idea of my own. God shrank Noah, his sons and daughters and all the animals, insects and plants. He fitted them into a watertight matchbox using a process that we now know of as ‘micro biological molecular miniaturisation.’ After the flood God opened the matchbox and said abracadabra. This word has been used ever since in relation to unexplainable magical tricks.

My spare tyre theory is that Noah and the ark it’s just a fable based on a local flood that Noah rode out because he owned a boat big enough to take his family, his dog, a few chickens and some livestock for Sunday dinner.

You spare tyre theory... and everyone else's contribution... aside, dear Glad (the greatest of love and peace to you!)... I am just happy and grateful that we can have all of our different outlooks, comments, opinions, beliefs, disbeliefs... and not be trying to bit one another's heads off while stating them!

Perhaps we don't all believe in the same thing, 'zactly, BUT... it's obvious that we ALL agree that we don't NEED to in order to have fellowship/friendship. Even love.

And doesn't THAT trump WHATEVER it is we all think/believe/assume/presume/opine? Shouldn't it?

I am humbled by you all... and your ability to "discuss" differences while still accepting the one whose position is different from your own.

Peace... truly... to you all... and to your households!

YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,

SA

Good Morning to you all

Wanted to share my family had a wonderful holiday weekend with loved ones and even exchanged spiritual fellowship. It was very encouraging.

I too appreciate everyones input on the "whole Noah thing"?? lol
And even if we may differ on our understanding to some degree the beauty of it is our lives do not depend on being so accurate on everything. The important factor is our "Love" for our Lord and master and the Love we share among ourselves and to "All"!

Thank you for all the comments.
With Love justmom

And the etymology of "Abracadabra" comes from the old blessing "ABRAham Can't Always Design A Better RAft"

I have to agree..
Makes for a nice atmosphere..

No Pineapples or Coconuts on the ark = No Hula Dancers..
I`ll bet there wasn`t one Hula Dancer on Noah`s Ark..

This is a nice sentiment. I have to say that biting heads off is not a gladiator arena technique, it's lions that do that to Christians and gladiators fight the lions.

Now, that article doesn't say there was ONE global flood but it does say there might be evidence of global floods, which would explain the various flood myths in the different cultures all over the world.
