Well, I have just learned that undertanding this CORRECTLY is a very important matter, dear ones (peace to you, all!) SO important that I must add something more that might help us see the different HERE... as to faith and holy spirit.
Since the lamp is the eye... what the foolish virgins needed was "something" to help them SEE. But while it CAN help you HEAR... faith is not what helps you SEE. Why? Because faith is the assured EXPECTATION of the thing "hoped" for... the evident demonstration of realities... though NOT BEHELD. NOT seen. The issue in the parable is with regard to be able to SEE something (the thing hoped for)... hence, the virgins getting their lamps in order.
It was not about faith, however, as the virgins ALL hoped for (and so had faith IN) the arrival of the Bridegroom. Which OCCURRED. And so, because they HEARD the announcement (due to their FAITH)... AND their Bridegroom had arrived... faith was no longer necessary. The "hope" had been fulfilled. And so, once the thing "hoped for" OCCURS... one no longer NEEDS faith, right? Because the EXPECTATION has been fulfilled.
But here's another reason why holy spirit... in the form of eyesalve, which gives is GRANTED to those with FAITH... and so GIVES SIGHT to the (formerly) blind, is important:
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory; and he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. "
But here's the point, dear ones, and why I had to continue:
1. We must KEEP asking, and KEEP seeking the "water"... the cleanses, that gives sight to the blind... which "water" is poured out from the innermost parts of the Bridegroom, the HOLY One of Israel and Holy Spirit, our dear Lord, JAHESHUA, the Chosen One of JAH (MischaJah)... FREE!
and...
2. We must NOT leave off faith; indeed, we MUST strengthen our faith... because...
The "water of life"... holy spirit... is "free"... because one cannot buy it with silver or gold. One can only "buy" it with... FAITH. Faith... IN the One who "sells" it! Thus,
Faith, therefore... is the CURRENCY that one USES... TO "buy" oil.... holy spirit... the FREE water (of life)!
If one has little faith... then one has little ASSETS... or currency... with which to make a purchase! Which is why the five foolish virgins were told to go off and buy: they apparently had SOME "money" with WHICH to buy more "oil." The five wise virgins, however, had already BOUGHT enough to begin with.
I hope this helps and, again, peace to you, ALL!
YSSFS of Christ,
Shellamar
