We were discussing Abaddon who is the Destroyer/death on another thread and being that it's something I never heard of before I have been thinking on it a lot.

The thought came to me that maybe Abaddon and Satan and the demons are behind all these crazy wars and especially now. People like Sadam Hussein and Gadafi and Bin Laden seem like the Devil personified. Maybe the demons invade their minds and control these men? I just can't understand why anyone wants to incite such hatred and strife. They all end up dead and hunted in the end!

What do you all think?

Not to any great extent, they don't have to.
Humans are unique in getting themselves into the same crap over and over and over again.
Influencing, yes but not starting.
We, part of our fallen nature is the erroneous view that we can do "this" alone, without God's help.
"This" can be anything from marriage problems, to work to international affairs, to , yes, wars.

When we try to do this alone and by that I mean without God in our hearts, we do what is in OUR best SHORT TERM interest and that means we shoot ourselves and those around us, in the foot.

Its like thinking you can save yourself through good deeds but the moment the REASON you do those deeds because you want to be saved, those deeds are tainted and broken by the true intentions behind them.

Demons influence us to do what we KNOW is wrong BUT we are still the ones that DO IT.

I recall my Mom saying the bad things happening were caused by Satan causing people to do them. I think it may be a JW belief, and she was a loyal one to the end.

So there we have a example of JW thinking again, I probably got my idea from that lol. Chariklo will like that.

That bad things are caused by the devil is not unique to The JW crowd.

Bad things are always attributed to mischievous beings or the devil in many cultures. It's an easy thing to tell a child when they ask why.

I reiterate what both dear P and HP have stated, dear Zoe (peace to you all!): the Adversary has NO power... except what we as humans give him. What WE manifest is simply born of our own DESIRES. Now, will/does he EXPLOIT those desires? Absolutely. It was how he got Eve to eat: he had to first KNOW, though, that she DESIRED to eat. Once he saw THAT... when he saw a way to exploit that desire - by deceiving her into thinking if she DID, she would be LIKE JAH. Not necessarily APART from Him (because if she had thought THAT she most probably would NOT have eaten)... but that she could know good (life) AND bad (death)... and STILL love. Like JAH.

On top of that, today's wars are actually a bit less brutal than some in the past. The body counts have certainly (and drastically) reduced. So the whole JW thing about war... is very overstated. It must be... in order to continue their success in fomenting fear among their members.

EVEN SO... Christ said, "You are to hear of wars and reports of wars; SEE THAT YOU ARE NOT TERRIFIED. FOR THESE THINGS MUST TAKE PLACE... BUT... the END... IS NOT YET."

SO... wars and reports of wars... are NOT an indication of anything dark being imminent, luv. To the contrary, REMEMBER: "it is when they are saying PEACE... and SECURITY"... that "instant destruction" comes [upon some].

Right? Don't let the unloving WTBTS practice of fomenting fear continue with you, if it is... or let it distract you, dear Zoe. Let it GO, if you have it... and REPLACE it... with JOY... which is a FRUIT of JAH's holy spirit. Because for NOW... we have reason TO rejoice, yes? Because NOW... we are learning about His SAVIOR!

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't worried, just curious, seems some of the people starting wars and conflicts are so evil and inhumane. I guess human nature is not always inclined to be good.
