AGUEST SAID

When I tell them they won't have that excuse, that the HS is speaking to them NOW and all they have to do is listen, I get "how would you know", "what authority do you have", etc and when I tell them NOT to listen to me but to the HS, they just shake their heads...
Pains my heart to see it, truly.
And I feel your pain, dear one... as I often share it. I sometimes can't tell which is worse: the pain that comes when others fail to listen to him for themselves (when it is so possible for them!)... that which comes when they take issue with you for speaking the truth TO them (what else should you do?)... or that which comes from remaining silent when the Spirit directs you all the way down to your bones to speak?
Jeremiah understood and described this last one perfectly, IMHO, even as to one HE had affection for:
"
You deceived[a] me, JaHVeH, and I was deceived;
you overpowered me and prevailed.
I am ridiculed all day long;
everyone mocks me.
Whenever I speak, I cry out
proclaiming violence and destruction.
So the word of JaHVeH has brought me
insult and reproach all day long.
But if I say, “I will not mention his word
or speak anymore in his name,”
his word is in my heart like a fire,
a fire shut up in my bones.
I am weary of holding it in;
indeed, I cannot.
I hear many whispering,
“Terror on every side!
Denounce him! Let’s denounce him!”
[Even] my friends
are waiting for me to slip, saying,
“Perhaps he will be deceived;
then we will prevail over him
and take our revenge on him.”
But that's why it's called a "torture" tree/pole, right? So we must gird up our loins... and call upon Christ to carry OUR load... while we carry his.
Wonderful discussion, my dear brother, and I thank you... and others who commented... for your patience with ME here.
Peace to you!
YSSFS of Christ,
SA
