Here is an interview with Vatican astronomer--no, that is not an oxymoron--Guy Consolmagno (SJ), discussing the close relationship of science and faith very eloquently. It is about an hour long, but worth listening to: http://fora.tv/2008/03/02/Brother_Guy_C ... _Mechanics. Here are some quotes from the interview:

Most religious people are not arch-creationst-fundamentalists. Most Evangelicals are not. But those are the ones you see on TV. Most scientists are not Richard Dawkins. But those are the ones you see on TV. (13:10)

The word "science" comes from the Latin word "to know". But the important thing for a scientist is not to say "I know," but to say "I don't know." Science is done on the edges, where we don't know. (13:50)

There are three assumptions, three religious assumptions, you have to make before you can be a scientist. ...

You have to believe the universe exists.

You have to believe that it makes sense and follows rules. ... A thousand years ago, before we had rules that worked, what gave people the confidence to even think that there were laws to be found?

Pure science, looking at the stars...is a worthwhile thing for grownups to do... (20:10)

Most of us are going through life with a twelve year old's understanding of what religion is, and a twelve year old's understanding of what science is. (24:20)

And a 3-month-olds' understanding of what spiritual... and thus, spirituality... is. True, we are babes as long as we are under men in charge; but once the day arrives for each of us that the Father appointment BEFOREHAND... we must leave off the "elementary things"... the things which babes pursue (i.e., satisfaction/relief of the flesh) and pursue the things pertaining to the SPIRIT.

True, Christ did say we must become as young/small children, yes, dear ones; he did not say, though, that we were to remain as babes. To the contrary, we are to "grow up" in our understanding. And that is what holy spirit is FOR:

"But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will[e] abide in Him. 1 John 2:27

If one hasn't received that anointing... and its "water", holy spirit... one need only ask:

"If you then, though you are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give holy spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13

People might not think it's "right" to ask for such a gift, that they are not "worthy." We are, NONE OF US, worthy, dear one. That is why the giving of such a gift is pursuant to God's UNdeserved kindness. His... mercy. And He is merciful.

Seek... and you WILL find. ASK... and it WILL be given to you. KNOCK... and the Door (that is Christ)... WILL be opened to you. All YOU need... is faith that such WILL be... wicked though you may be... because God IS merciful.

Again, peace to you, all!

Servant to the Household of God, Israel, and those who go with... and a slave of Christ, the Holy One of Israel, JAHESHUA, the Chosen One of JAH (MischaJah), the One who, along with his Bride, KEEP saying, to all those wishing and thirsting:

"Come! Take 'life's water'... the holy spirit of God... which water/holy spirit is poured out from the innermost parts of His Son... the "Tree" of Life... from which "RIVERS" of such "water" FLOW FREE!"
