Very smart movement I 'd say. The future is on, or without, rails! O-
Rails will never reach the capacity of ships.
But they are a major threat to airplanes (passengers).
So at the end it is NOT a niche project.

I think you'll find that Russia has always been a major transit route for trade between Eastern Asia and Europe.

The Russian need to ensure and safeguard its links with the rest of the world, on many fronts, has been a driving force behind international events and power struggles for many hundreds of years.

I'm noting also the source of the article and the probable interests behind it. Wikipedia shows the main influence behind the company to be the 13th richest individual in the world. I also noted a few loaded terms used in the article..."nuclear-capable" is one.

Interesting, though, and thanks for bringing it to attention, Anomos!
