Well as I started the OP I will say that I am satisfied with the answer and learned a lot. All the offense taken makes me sad and I am sorry it came to that, I didn't mean to have that come into it.

Of course you didn't mean to cause any trouble or offense, Zoe! No one would ever think that of you. I am glad you got the answer that you were looking for.

No real reason for the trouble to have happened either. Especially since we all seem to be agreed that the bible itself is not inspired in its entirety, and not inerrant. And that we should listen to Christ over the bible.

I do not wish to engage in a back and forth, Char, over the same issues as have been re-hashed before. It does not make sense for me to have to spend pages defending my faith to you when you should already know what my faith is, because this conversation has been had before. (you wish to say that it is only an aspect of my faith that you questioned... if that is what you think, then consider that it was also only an aspect of your faith that I questioned.. and this only AFTER you questioned mine).

You know that one aspect of this forum is for people to share what they hear from the Spirit. Now questioning (testing, as you SHOULD do) something that is shared is one thing... if you can show the error in WHAT is heard by testing it, against Christ; love; scripture... then fine; good; great! But if you cannot show the error something that is shared and heard in Spirit - and if what is shared is actually backed up by Christ, love, and scripture - then resorting to attacking the 'method' (hearing the Spirit of Truth) as being wrong and "reckless to the highest order", is getting tiresome. How many times should we have that same conversation?

Nothing more to add (peace to you all!). All that needed to be said has been said, IMHO. Hopefully, what HAS been said will be heard by any who need to hear it. Wanna have faith that it will. Not sure I do, just now, but I will work on that. Because LOVE... hopes all things... and believes all things. Because of this, it never fails.

The method of testing although being accurate will continue to be the problem as long as individuals
continue to believe that the only SURE WAY to determine it is TRUTH is if in fact it passes the approval of what is " written" from something uninspired, the bible ( but trusted over CHRIST) or the approval of a CHURCH, not people, but a structure NOT FULL OF HOLY SPIRIT, uninspired ( Jah doesn't dwell in buildings sorry)

Those that do not need a building, uninspired books or even inspired books that's have been twisted or changed to mislead sheep, but choose to listen to CHRIST over ANYONE else anymore, will be hated!

CHRIST tried to show how and what form of worship the father approves of AND...
Israel ( those professing to belong to CHRIST) continues to prefer a golden calf. Continues to want an earthly king in the form of religion ( following the GB, the POPE, the ELDERS whatever else )

And my Lord continually reminds me of his patience towards me as well and how man has not changed.
It may be 2013 but it might as well be 28-30 c.e.

So, once again I will admit I have stated that although we all agree how the WTBS is evil and what they do that makes them not truth ( even if there is some truth in them) despite they call themselves " the truth" the RCC along with all the others are NO different. Jah does not dwell there anymore than he does in the WTBS. And they believe they are " The True Truth" , the universal body of CHRIST.

Sorry, it is not so!!! The same call " to get out of her" in Revelation 18:4
applies the same to the RCC as it does the WTBS!

We must stop touching what is unclean, what does not belong to Jah and CHRIST, what continually stands inbetween man and CHRIST , before they can take us in as sons and daughters belonging to THEM and THEM only!

So back to CHRIST only we go...on topic?

The bible is a finger pointing the way to Christ, don't concentrate on the finger or you may miss all the heavenly glory ( the gospel).

That said: without the bible, none of us would be here right now discussing any of this.


Give the bible the respect it deserves BUT never forget that it POINTS to Christ.
Remember always that it was written FOR Us BUT NOT to US.
Remember also that the bible is no more than any other of God's creation on Earth and if ALL of creation is in need of redemption, then so is the Bible.

I would have thought that we would be beyond this by now, especially considering where many here came from.

I think it saddens all of us (peace to you, all!), but I can't see it resolving unless ALL religions are off limits... and I can't see how that can occur here, given our respective backgrounds with/in the WTBTS. We are not limited to exposing the false teachings of the WTBTS (although, that was the primary religion to do it with), but to ALL false teachings to the extent they are raised here or have some correlation to what is posted here.

So, as I posted elsewhere, we have a decision to make: either ALL religion and their (false) teachings are off limits... or none can be. Anything else would be hypocritical. Now, no one should set OUT to challenge the teachings of a particular religion, but if one... anyone... wants to PUSH the particular teachings of a particular religion, then they should be resolved... and ready... and able... to defend such teachings. Or at least, not start making ad hominem accusations as to others to do so challenge them.

Challenge the teaching. Challenge the belief/faith IN the teaching. But ad hominem because you cannot... is just... well, silly. Daft. Bonkers. And not very intelligent, despite all of the "academic" smoke and mirrors.
