I seriously just had to call my new work for my first actual shift and say that I may not make it due to the Tornado watch that Edmonton is under. Man, seriously? I guess that should be construed as extenuating circumstances, lol, but it is always bad to call in on your first shift at a new place!

Hopefully it lifts in the next hour. ANd don't worry about us; we don't get the devastating ones that you get in the states, and this is not supposed to be like that. But i will not leave the kids unsupervised during a tornado warning ,lol!

i'll keep yas posted.

peace,
tammy

Thanks Loz! Seems to be passing already. Its quiet. 15 minutes ago, it was hailing with a downpour, lightning and everything... all during my pick the kids up time. School Busses aren't running though, and kids are not allowed to leave the schools, even high school. Parents have to come get them, or they stay put!

Puppy, lol..

Peace,
tammy

Take care with that "quiet," dear tec (peace, luv!) - for some reason, I recall that saying "the calm BEFORE the storm"!

And you prolly missed some unruly customer who would'a given you a hard time on your first day, so rejoice, luv, and pray that whomever DID get him was able to survive it! LOLOLOL!

Be safe, girl - you, little ones, and dear hubby!

Peace!

Well, it has passed, and hubby is driving home from where I am about to go, and said, other than traffic it is fine out there. So kids are no longer worried, and I am still going to work. Get to try out my new shoes after all ; )

Sorry if i worried anyone. i wasn't worried about the tornado warning; I WAS worried about calling in on the first day, lol. That was always a warning sign for me when I supervised, that someone was NOT going to work out.

I do hear you on the calm before the storm. I thought that too when it all of a sudden got quiet. But it has remained quiet, and there have been no more alerts issued, so it should be good to go.

Peace!!

Whew glad the tornado passed you by Tammy. They are scary dangerous.

We had several here in Ontario a few weeks ago, it passed by us but I was nervous as the hail and wind was awful.
We also had 4 tornados in the past 6 years Hit my last town I lived in, they did really bad damage so good thing to stay home and be safe just in case.

Well, I made it to work and home, and the the weather is sunny again : )

And my feet survived working for a few hours in a brand new pair of shoes, lol. Funny how being out of work for almost six months can make you forget that your feet need to be taken care of first and foremost!

Peace,
tammy

Yep Tammy...

Takes a minute and then the feet break right in! It was always hard when I had been off for a while then went back as well. Good shoes are priceless. Take care of your feet girl!

Glad training went good and weather back to normal!
Have a restful evening
