Skally's last thread got me to thinking about this passage in Revelation 17, particularly the part where God puts it into the heart of the beast to hate the harlot:


16 & 17 - And the ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire. For God put [it] into their hearts to carry out his thought, even to carry out [their] one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished.

No doubt about it, I hate this harlot; particularly the one who has been working the street corner near my life. Over at JWN, every time something happens at Watchtower HQ that can possibly be exploited for media attention, they go nuts trying to turn it into the media event of the year with the hopes of bringing down the organization. Admittedly, I got caught up in some of that nonsense, being freshly out, foam still dripping from my teeth, wanting to dine Watchtower flesh.

Does that make me or the folks over at JWN or SKally the wild beast? Well, I hope not because the bible says the beast that is used to destroy the harlot will likewise be destroyed. [17:11] Also, those who admire the beast are described as not having their names written in the book of life.[17:8]

Seems to me that we as individuals or as a group would not want to be identified with whoever or whatever is used by God to bring down Satan's institutions of religion. That doesn't mean we just suck it up and go sit in the corner until it's time for God to act.

All the information I gathered from JWN, JWFacts, Freeminds, JWStruggle, not to mention the books by Franz, Cameron, Jonsson, etc... were invaluable in my coming out and coming to terms with the reality of the mind-rape I had experienced my entire life at the hands of the Watchtower organization. Exposing the organization for what it is helps others through the exiting process. As older ones die off or move on due to new-found stability, a fresh supply of people willing to step up and keep the information flowing about the destructive nature of this organization will always be needed.

Being a conduit for information and education doesn't identify us as the beast, despite our hate for the harlot. If anything, we're probably more like the faithful and wise steward who dispenses food at the proper time.

Okay, just rambling. Need more coffee.

A couple/few thoughts come to MY mind on this (peace to you all!) and help keep me from wanting to go after that harlot myself:

First, there are those we love still IN her! How do we suppose SHE will go down... and they won't WITH her? Shouldn't we more concerned with helping folks get OUT of her BEFORE her demise? Because those who go down with her are those who "share in her sins" and thus "receive her plagues". I am SURE that some of us have loved ones still in her that we want JAH to forgive... and get out... because they truly do NOT "know what they do."

Just like there were those who were caught in Jerusalem! I cannot imagine that those who got out and escaped to Zion were HAPPY to see those who did NOT escape ravaged and killed! I mean, even if they were enemies -- who is truly that cold/unfeeling?

So, rather than calling for her quick demise, should we not, perhaps like Abraham, plead for those still IN her... and ask for TIME as well as enlightenment for THEM?

Which brings me to my second point, the reason I didn't allow myself to call for that demise when I came out (although I truly and totally HATED "her", what she represents, and what she's done and does). Something my Lord first TOLD me... then showed me where it is "written":

"When your enemy has fallen, do not rejoice, and when he is overthrown, let not your heart leap for joy. Lest JaHVeH see it, and it displease Him, and He turns away His wrath from him." Proverbs 24:17, 18

Why would my Lord tell me this, given what this harlot is and has done... and is doing... considering his OWN disgust and hatred for "her"? I already knew the answer and so do you:

"Vengeance is MINE," says JaHVeH, "And I will repay." Deuteronomy 32:35; Hebrews 10:30

It is not OUR job, then, to even call for the demise of an enemy - Christ didn't. OUR job is to show, prove, and become ourselves [to be] the children of GOD:

“YOU heard that it was said, ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ However, I say to YOU: Continue to love YOUR enemies and to pray for those persecuting YOU; that YOU may prove yourselves sons of YOUR Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous. For if YOU love those loving YOU, what reward do YOU have? Are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing? And if YOU greet YOUR brothers only, what extraordinary thing are YOU doing? Are not also the people of the nations doing the same thing? YOU must accordingly be perfect, as YOUR heavenly Father is perfect." Matthew 5:43, 48

Cooled MY "jets" very early on. Rather than pray for "her" demise, which could prove to be THEIR (those who are still in!) demise, then, I learned from my Lord to "stand in the gap"... and plead FOR them. Like Noah, Abraham, Moses, others... and Christ himself did! It was one of the MAIN reasons righteousness was attributed to these - because they PROVED they belonged to JAH... by means of doing the OPPOSITE of what those who belong to the Adversary do (seek the demise of their enemies) and pleading on behalf of their enemies! (Genesis 18:23-32; Isaiah 58:9-12; Ezekiel 22:30; Revelation 5:8; 8:3, 4

I realize that not everyone has the STRENGTH to do this; it s MUCH easier to want... and seek... vengeance. But one should really consider whether that is the "way" they want... or should... go.

Hello to you all and again "yes" to my sister (aguest)

I too heard this in the beginning. Not to rejoice over what happens to Israel and Judah but to mourn and pray for her.

I was reminded of Ezekiel 25: 1-17 & 26:2 as to how Jah feels when ones say..... "Aha" or "clap their hands and stomp their feet" or "rejoice" or "Look! The house of Judah is like all other nations" or "taking their own vengeance" he was not happy at all.

The sins are against HIM reallyand he sees how his people have been treated. Let him exact judgement! This is where we truly can understand 2 Chronicles 20:17: [i]"You will not need to fight in this instance. Take your position, stand still and see the salvation of Jah in your behalf. Do not be afraid or terrified for Jah is with you."

Let us continue to pray for them my brothers and sisters hoping mercy and grace be shown them as it has been towards us.

Let's not lose sight we are talking about two different entities. I love the Witnesses. I hate the Watchtower.

"The Watchtower" is the cold machinery that is, in reality, out of any person's control. It's like a landmine from a war long since over in that Rutherford/Knorr intentionally turned it into a cult and it keeps doing it's damage even though the architects of this mess are long gone.

In my understanding, the waiting comes from mercy, from God, so that all who want to and can hear His Son calling them, WILL hear and turn, and be saved.

When the beast turns on 'her', 'she' is more than just the WTS.

But we don't have to worry about that, imo, except perhaps to be aware and to be wise (as serpents). We must follow Christ; help point the way TO Christ, to any 'thirsting' or 'hungering' for Him and for Life. To speak truth... though it is to Christ one must go to know Truth to begin with. He teaches, and He is the one who calls people out of the lie, and leads them to life.
