The thing about fig trees is that they do not have a specific fruiting times. Individual figs ripen individually, so it would be reasonable to expect there to be at least one fig.

That's the point here.

Later on in that chapter Jesus makes an example of the fig tree showing his disciples what they can accomplish with a little faith

Some have argued that the fig tree was symbolic for someone or some group that was all show and bore no fruit.

I keep to rhe theory that a fig tree landed on him as a child. I've had trees fall on me three times so I know what that's like...

Last sermon I heard on the fig tree the priest said that even Jesus could get exasperated!

I don't think dear tec intended the comment as a pun, dear Pup (peace to you, both!). She was correct in that the word denotes giving "before." For example, God forgave those who put faith in Christ... EVEN BEFORE SUCH WERE BORN. He GAVE Christ... for our sins... BEFORE... we even sinned. So, on the basis of faith in him and his blood, one's sins can be covered over, indeed blotted out. But the provision for this was given BEFORE any sin was ever committed BY the one "exercising" such faith.

In that light, those of US who are transgressed against must be willing to have ALREADY let it go, moved PAST it... BEFORE the transgression is done. Already made up our minds and hearts. Fore... give. This is how we are able to "forgive" our brothers "up to seventy times seven" times. You already did... before the one ever erred against you.



This is accurate, dear one. It correlates with the one who was given one mina/talent and, rather than using it to increase the master's belongings, went and buried it. What he was given was taken away. The fig tree had before it the Son of God. The LIFE. The means for life having come into existence in THIS world. Thus, the means for ITS life. And so, it should have shown regard for the One standing before it seeking fruit... and produced for him. It did not. And so, what life it HAD... which came from that One... was taken away. Since it did not want to feed (and thus, sustain the life of the One who had given IT life)... the little bit of life it had was taken back.

Which is what should have occurred. We, humans, only think of life in terms of humans. Well, and some animals. But ALL life is the same spirit - there is no superiority. It ALL had the same origin... and Originator. And so, just like sentient life is owed to JAH... so is the life of ALL "living" things, which plants are. They live, breathe... and have blood (sap) in them. They produce almost the same way as we do: male/female, genitals, embryos, etc. Like beasts, they just have a different kind of VESSEL which holds their life.

But just as JAH knows earthling man (every hair on our individual heads, right?), and beasts (which can see/hear/smell/taste/feel WAY better than we can - they just can't speak or use their "hands/legs" like we do... and only reach a certain IQ... because of their prohibitive vessels)... He knows every plant, as well. Some live but a moment... some well outlive us by generations.

However... this, from the 148th Psalm:

Praise JaHVeH!

Praise JaHVeH from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!

Per trinity --- I'm not saying it isn't correct because I DUNNO. Heard a theologian few days ago say the trinity info or the three as one was never inserted in the New Testament until 500 yrs. after the early, printed, versions. Wish I could remember who said this but he was one of the educated ones w/doctorate -- not that it proves anything.

The gentlemen is correct, dear Ataloa (good morning and peace to you!): the idea of a triune god was one practiced by the nations but NEVER by Israel in general - only when they intermingled WITH the nations and accepted the gods OF such nations. Until Christ, however, they recognized only ONE God: the "Holy" One of Israel, JAH of Armies... "until Shiloh come." Because they knew, per the temple construction (which was a "model" of the TRUE temple of God) that when that One (MischaJah) arrived, HE would become the "Holy"... with JAH being the HOLY of (the two) Holies - the MOST Holy.

Prior TO the coming of MischaJah, JAH spoke to Israel through His prophets... to whom He GAVE some of His (holy) spirit. When that One sent His SON, however... and said Israel was to listen to HIM (the SON) as "MischaJah" (the Chosen One of JAH), HE (the SON) became the "Door"... or "room"... THROUGH which Israel had to go in order to enter into/before the HOLY of (the two) Holies - into/before the MOST Holy. John 10:9; 14:6 If folks would only look to the EARTHLY tabernacle and temple, which is a antitype of the REAL "temple" of God... the place where His spirit DWELLS... and so includes Him, His Son, the Prophets and Apostles, then the rest of Christ's Body... they would SEE that there is no third room/chamber.

There is only the Holy... and MOST Holy... and that one must go through the first (the Holy)... in order to get into the second (the MOST Holy/HOLY of Holies).

Sadly, in imitating the form(s) of worship of the NATIONS... and NOT the true Israel... some have used ONE mistranslated Bible verse (Matthew 28:19) to mistransliterate about five or six others (where holy spirit is referred to as a "he" rather than an "it")... and in doing so have corrupted the TRUTH: that there is only the Father, the MOST HOLY (Holy of Holies) One of Israel, JAH of Armies... and the Son (the Holy One of Israel... AND Holy Spirit - 2 Corinthians 3:17).

Why? As our dear Lord himself said:

"For false christs (anointed/chosen ones) and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand." Matthew 24:24, 25

Where do these false christs and false prophets come from? Outside? Nope. They come from within:

“I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars..." Revelation 2:2

"But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate." Revelation 2:6

"I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan." Revelation 2:9

“I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth." Revelation 2:13-16

That "sword"... is TRUTH, dear Abstract. Truth... that reveals the lies, cultivated by the "father" of the lie, our Adversary, the one called "Satan" and "Devil."

The trinity is NOT a truthful teaching/doctrine when it comes to the children of Israel OR the Body of Christ... and it is sad to see so many who put their faith in it. JAH is ONE God (Deuteronomy 6:4, 5)... NOT three in one. And He has given us no other PERSON than His Son... and no other spirit than His own than that Son... and through that Son His OWN spirit: holy spirit, His breath, blood, and seed... by means of which we LIVE... and through which we are "blessed" so as to be in union with Him... through that Son.

That admonition is not to "kiss" another entity that is "the Holy Spirit," dear one. The admonition is to:

"KISS... the SON!" Psalm 2:12

If there was someone else for us to kiss... or listen to... the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies, would have told Israel (Matthew 17:5). The Son only meant, when He said that the Father would send a "helper/comforter/advocate/paraclete"... that it was the FATHER Who would send HIM (Christ) AGAIN... this time in the form of a GLORIFIED spirit. Why? Because HE (Christ) did NOTHING of his OWN initiative. He could NOT come back on his own. Just as with the first time, and with the time still to come... he must be SENT.

Regardless of what men teach, the APOSTLES knew this truth. For as one of THEM, John, wrote:

"My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, [Jesus] Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world." 1 John 2:1, 2

SO sad that some put their faith in the teachings of men, which teachings have been fomented by the "false stylus of the scribes"... those who are among the DEAD... rather than simply going to Christ HIMSELF... he that is not only among the LIVING... but IS the LIFE... and so SPEAKS... and asking HIM about it.

What prevents them? A lack of faith IN him... so as to believe that he truly IS alive... risen FROM the dead... and so ABLE to speak.
