i was obligated
by a long
and COSTLY
series of arguments over universal law
to give Satan the Devil a name change,
something more up to date
as to Satan's true nature on this day in 2014
he is a drunkard
an addict
desensitized to violence and brutality
and no longer the
insightful
witty
clever
evil
that he was
in the early days after Eden
nope
he's stunted
of mind
and running on auto-pilot most days
once in a while
he may come out of his stupor
and shine in glorious splendour
but
most days
he's not as evil
not the crass aggressor,
ingenious, crafty
but thoroughly ignoble Adversary of Old
"Satan" means "Opposer" or "Adversary" in an old tongue,
nowadays
he is
the epitome
of stupid
so
new name
Stupid the Devil
this name change
not colorful or spectacular
was done
nonetheless
at heavy cost
i talked to District Overseer Pandachuk
20-odd years ago as i drove him around to my calls
and we agreed on Satan's present day
physical appearance,
much like a scrawny drug addict,
then
three months later
the Watchtower came out with a new look,
just that very look Pandachuk and i had discussed
so i don't think i'm the only one
who perceives
a much weaker
much more erratic
and maybe oddball
and prone to stupid stupid decisions
Stupid the Devil,
one that may be facing repeated attempts at overthrow
or rebellion among his own demons
for being such a lousy ruler
who led all of them
to a crappy life
with certain doom their only prospect
