AGUEST SAID

Interesting, dear tec (peace to you, luv!). Sounds to ME (and of course, I could be wrong) but perhaps study conductor's husband had not only been "searching the scriptures" himself, but was perhaps embarrassed to know what YOU would find there... versus what they teach/SAY is there. That was a huge thing for: seeing what WAS "written" versus what they SAY is written. I didn't always know how to 'splain that to householders.

Also interesting, the Judas thing was the VERY thing that caused the dear one who will be attending the Memorial with me this year (and has for every year except 2-3 for the past 18 years)... to start to doubt... as well as hear. I remember when she came to me with the matter. She said she with another JW on a Bible Study and they were inviting the householder to that year's Memorial. She said the "sister" with her read the verses and then said that Judas "was not there," and she said she IMMEDIATELY "HEARD A VOICE" say to her, "No, that's not right, child. Read it again."

She said she was blown away, first by the voice, and then by what "it" showed her the verse ACTUALLY said. She said "The only person I could think of to talk about this with was you, 'cause you're the only person I know who says they hear a voice!" LOLOL!

And so she asked me and, to be totally honest, I had never thought about it one way or another! But when she asked me, I then heard the voice say that Judas was not only at the supper but ate and drank... and WHY!! Because the covenant (for a kingdom) had to be made with all 12 tribes, not just 11! And then I was told why HIS morsel was dipped in the juices (sop): to indicate HIS uncleanness. It was a "polluted" piece of bread, unlike the "clean" morsels given to the others! Then he showed me how their account of the matter... that Luke was not written in order (per their "Aid" and "Insight" books) was WRONG... based on Luke's own words (that he wrote his account "in logical order", etc.)... as well as that Luke was not inspired but wrote based on having interviewed others who WERE present with my Lord, during his walk... and that night.

And that was the beginning of the end for both of us, the "Judas" issue.
I just found it interesting that it's come up, with the Memorial being tomorrow! Even so, I am glad that YOU were "awakened" by that false teaching! Maybe conductor's hubby was, too. Or something similar. Too bad you lost contact with HIM - LOLOLOL!

Peace!

Shellama

Yeah, JM, that was the only time I went. I was terrified enough to ask my husband about that because he was soooooo against my association with them to begin with. He is the reason I never went to a meeting. Then, after I attended the memorial, I never felt the need to go back.

Empty, though, yes... good description on what it felt like.

Shelby, you might be right about him. Maybe it was simply seeing something through someone else's eyes... if he was paying attention, he would have noted my reaction at the 'eleven' disciples. He was sitting right next to me.

But you know what else you reminded me of? My friend used to take my problems from our study to her husband. She could not figure out what was holding me back, and he would give her some things to show or ask me. Because I could NOT accept the Michael being Christ. Maybe he did some research for her, trying to help her, and in so doing... came across things that did not make sense?

Then he stopped going to meetings. (I can't remember if that is before or after I stopped studying) I found out from her after I stopped studying that they separated though. I wish I had not lost contact with either of them.

Perhaps one or even both will be at the memorial, though I know that she moved away. Regardless, I am going to proclaim Christ before men, and perhaps someone will be given the courage to listen, or begin to listen, to Him over men. I am going out of love, for them and for Him, and because He is directing me to go... whatever reason He might have, HE knows, and I am just going to follow.

Peace to you both,

tammy
