QUENTIN SAID How were the Pyramids built? There's lots of theories. Which make sense? The ancient historian Herodotimus(sp) stated the Egyptians used machines, 1000 men, took twenty years. What are your thoughts? Perhaps we don't give the ancient's enough credit for having scientific ability and minds. _________________ Vinegar tasts better in freedom than honey in slavery How can you unterstand a thing unless you know it? Perhaps we don't give the ancient's enough credit for having scientific ability and minds. What i bolded in your post is what i think. Men were as ingenius then as now... more so, actually, imo. They had to be. Because they did not have computers and technology to do their thinking and work for them. Peace, tammy |

TEC SAID I actually think that the methods as to how they did some of these things are so simple, that they would never occur to us. Hiding in plain sight so to speak, because we tend to think 'complicated' is necessary. That's why some riddles elude us... our brains don't see something if it is too simple. The brain looks for complicated answers, and dismisses simple ones... as 'nah, that's too easy.' I am sure this is just a simple answer (pun intended, sort of, lol), and that it does not apply in all cases. Peace, tammy |

QUENTIN SAID "it's no mystery... the pyramids were always there ;P" Well now... ... you maybe right. I belive they were built at least 15,000 + years ago. So, your comment "is" not too far off the mark. Good point tec. Perhaps this thread is "boring", for myself it is fasinating to wonder how huge projects were ercted, Stonehinge, Churchs of the Middle Ages. Egyptlogist's put a date of 6000 years ago to the Giza complex. A time when most archologists say we were barely out of the knuckle draging stage of human development.... ....Strange.... _________________ Vinegar tasts better in freedom than honey in slavery How can you unterstand a thing unless you know it? AGUEST SAID My understanding is that they used a form of mathematics, dear HP (peace to you, love!), that allowed them to use weight-balancing techniques and construct assistive tools including elevators, pulleys, trolleys, etc., and that such worked SO well, it actually allowed the work to go faster than even some today estimate. Since the eastern span of the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge has taken, what 23 years thus far... 20 or so years to construct a pyramid... without modern-day tools, techniques, and instrumentation... should be so hard to grasp. Again, peace to you! Your servant and a slave of Christ, SA |
