Greetings and peace to you, dear LQ -
Not along those lines, no. The article states:
Quote:
Dr Helen Sharman, who went into space 28 years ago, said it is without a doubt that “all sorts of forms of life” are alive in the universe - but perhaps we “simply can’t see them” as they are so different to humanity.
She goes on to say:
Quote:
“Will they be like you and me, made up of carbon and nitrogen? Maybe not. It’s possible they’re right here right now and we simply can’t see them.”
For the verse you quoted, those who entertained angels were simply unaware that such WERE angels... but they actually did SEE them (they had put on flesh and so appeared as "able-bodied" men (versus, say, deformed men or even what we would consider "aliens"). Else, how could they have entertained/shown hospitality to them, to someone they couldn't even see?
For years, decades even, I've shared that just because we can't SEE spirit beings... and particularly the Christ... doesn't mean they/he doesn't exist. And to go further, just because some (think they) can't hear him, doesn't mean he doesn't exist. There are all manner of sounds that the human ear "can't hear," at least, not on its own, yet that doesn't mean the sound is nonexistent. I offer dog whistles, tones on certain radio frequencies, sonar (as some animals can hear such), etc.
This woman is a
scientist. I mean, who knows
what SHE saw "out there"? That she didn't come back and make a big fuss about it is understandable. Even that she kept a tight lid on it. I mean, who would believe her today, let alone have believed her 28 years ago?
That was my point with this article. Really had nothing to do with any Biblical verse, per se.
Again, peace to you!
Your servant, sister, and a slave of Christ,
Shel
