The cops arrest an African in Patras (for selling fake CD copies?) on the street:

Hear the voice of the policewoman and laugh! She screams like a little b**** (word censored to comply with forums rules! ;-) )
You see why I hate them?
They arrest someone who is trying to earn a living to get some food to eat and the true criminals that steal millions and made our country go bankrupt are out of prison.

Hmmmmm...

Maybe your police don't have "enough" to do (you know, in a crime-fighting crusader kind of way), dear ANOMOS (peace to you!). MAYBE your country needs a little more REAL crime - LOLOLOL! You know, the murder, rape, kidnap, armed robbery, drive-by shoot out, kidnapping of young girls and holding for, oh, 20 years or so... selling children drugs... and worse... kind of crime.

That's the kind we have over here. So much so, our police don't have time to arrest anyone for selling bootleg film. I'm sure we have some that would LIKE to do so, though. Ours tend to stick to arresting folks for bootlegging only AFTER they beat 'em/roughed 'em up... choked 'em to death... for "resisting" or "obstructing" or some other sundry crime that ISN'T bootlegging flicks...

But, dude... you're starting to put a damper on my desire to visit "lovely" Greece some day. I am really starting to have problems enjoying my peach fruit-on-the-bottom Oikos (which has a WAY better texture and flavor than Chiobani... and a really good looking actor* who endorses it!)...

Peace!

A slave of Christ,

Shellamar

I think regular beat cops/Police all over the world sometimes choose the easy stuff to make arrests. Here in Canada they pester people and make a big deal over small things like someone with a little bit of marijuana for personal use or selling stuff on the street without a licence but I think that is only the Cops who are not involved in the bigger problems. Rookie cops have to do the little stuff to get their experience. I don't approve but what can you do.
For instance there is traffic Cops/Police here who sit in their cars hiding behind a bush at the bottom of a hill or on a straight stretch of road where the speed limit is low and pull over 100's of cars going only 15 km's over the speed limit. Its a cash cow for the city not about crime.

Shelby, my very favourite yogurt is Oikos cherry flavour. I have tried all the brands and its the best though its not really from Greece LOL, Danone makes it.

I love Greek food other than lamb and I hear its gorgeous in the Greek islands but not sure I want to go to Athens. I know lots of Greek people and they mostly are lovely people though some of the old timer men up on the Danforth Street in Toronto can be very aggressive and angry LOL. Once I stopped in front of a bank on a side street and let out my passenger who was a very old lady with mobility issues. I was not obstructing traffic and I thought I would wait for her there as that area of Toronto had little parking. I was going to move if someone needed to park there like a emergency vehicle but for then no one needed to be there and it was a short dead-end street. Well this older Greek man noticed me idling there and he gave me the evil eye. When that didn't work he came over and literally pounded on my car window screaming in Greek with English profanities mixed in. I opened my window 3 inches and told him I would move soon but I had a very old lady who was coming soon from the Bank and she couldn't walk well. He just kept screaming and pounding on my car, I thought he would break the window. Thankfully the old lady came back while he was pounding and I took off.

OIKOS? Never heard of it. TOTAL is real Greek yogurt by FAGE, but the bastards have moved their offices out of Greece to avoid taxes, so I don't buy their products anymore. Not that it was not a smart movement, I would do the same if I could, but since I cannot, why should I end in prison for not paying taxes while they are ****** chicks with those money?

I hate the cops. Crime here in Greece is not different or softer than in the States. But the pigs do nothing to stop it unless prodded hard (aka exposed). They will stop an innocent civilian and search him, even take him to the police station and detain him for many hours with no reason (his behavior just looked suspicious to them) or he is a 'black man' (they are f****** racists) whereas 20 meters away from them criminals are selling drugs.
Traffic police here is the same ****. Money collectors!
