This might be inaccurate, dear VG (peace to you!). You may have it backward, actually. Have you read the essay on this link, written by King Abdullah Hussein of JORDAN, in 1947? If not, please do so as it might shed a bit more light on the history of this conflict:

Instead, they provide a constant supply of rockets and missiles
which are fired DAILY into Israel non-stop for years.
Which the U.S., England, France, and any other nation would do if were their lands taken by Israelis... as the Palestinians was... and they were left with a tiny portion... as the Palestinians are. Or should we think they should have just lain down over the decades and given it up... without ANY fight? What nation today would do that? Even the Native Americans didn't give up without a fight. Sadly, they were outnumbered... well, out-gunned... and massacred. Perhaps we think they should be just "happy" with what "we've" allowed them to maintain? Have you ever visited a reservation? If so, what do YOU think of the "conditions" on them?

If you were to compare the land mass given to Palestinians
by Israel, it would be comparable to the USA giving land the
size of Italy and Japan,in comparison to the total land of the
USA, to the First Nations in the USA ( the Indians they took it from)
And that was a GOOD thing??
Quote:
because the land of the Gaza is 10% of the total land
owned by the legal State of Israel, which was established
by UN Charter in 1948
Yes. And WHO "died" and left the UN in charge? Certainly not Christ. Even so, if they're SO "right"... why doesn't the U.S. listen to them TODAY? It certainly didn't as to Iraq...
Quote:
The Arab Muslim nations hold huge amounts of land
all around this tiny State.
And Americans/Canadians... most of ALL of whose ancestors immigrated from elsewhere, and some of who TOOK such land, by FORCE/MURDER... hold huge amounts of land all around today's "reservations." Yet, "we" don't seem to have a problem with so many of "US" around so few of "THEM." Nor do we allow THEM to have a problem with it... yes?
See, what most folks TODAY are doing is absolutely forgetting what CAUSED this matter in the FIRST place: the U.S. and Britain's unwillingness to take those Jews dispossessed of land in Russia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Belguim, etc.,... by NAZIS. The U.S. AND Britain (by means of their colonization of India, Australia, and various others lands) had WAY more places to "put" displaced Jews... BUT due to their alliance with the JEWISH Agency... sent them "back" to Palestine. And few Jews protested that, as they (still) believed those were lands given to THEM by GOD (even those who don't even BELIEVE in God believe this... which is a total... what... I don't even know!).
What these FORGET is (1) the land given them by GOD... was TAKEN... first by the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, and other sundry occupiers of those lands while Israel was in Egypt... THEN by the Assyrians, THEN by the Babylonians... who only returned JERUSALEM to them... THEN by the ROMANS... who took JERUSALEM... AFTER (2) they had SOLD a good deal of it to other nations for MONEY.
What they are TRYING to say/do NOW is that GOD is returning them/reestablishing them in their lands, using the 1948 "statehood" established by the UN as "proof" of that!
BUT, if God DID do that... how the continual war? Why hasn't He "delivered" Israel COMPLETELY into their hands?? They don't even own Jerusalem, but only part of it:
Quote:
Today, the status of Jerusalem remains one of the core issues in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. During the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, West Jerusalem was among the areas captured and later annexed by Israel while East Jerusalem, including the Old City, was captured and later annexed by Jordan. Israel captured East Jerusalem from Jordan during the 1967 Six-Day War and subsequently annexed it. Israel's 1980 Basic Law the Jerusalem Law refers to Jerusalem as the country's undivided capital. The international community rejected the annexation as illegal and treats East Jerusalem as Palestinian territory occupied by Israel.
The international community does not recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and the city hosts no foreign embassies. (Emphasis mine.)
In 2011, Jerusalem had a population of 801,000, of which Jews comprised 497,000 (62%), Muslims 281,000 (35%), Christians 14,000 (around 2%) and 9,000 (1%) were not classified by religion. (The reason Israel HAS this population is their call for Jews worldwide to RETURN and ESTABLISH residency.)

Jerusalem as capitalCapital of IsraelIsraeli Foreign Ministry buildingOn 5 December 1949, Israel's first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, proclaimed Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and since then all branches of the Israeli government—legislative, judicial, and executive—have resided there, except for the Ministry of Defense, located at HaKirya in Tel Aviv.
At the time of the proclamation, Jerusalem was divided between Israel and Jordan and thus only West Jerusalem was proclaimed Israel's capital.
In July 1980, Israel passed the Jerusalem Law as Basic Law.
The law declared Jerusalem the "complete and united" capital of Israel.
The "Basic Law: Jerusalem, Capital of Israel" is a main reason for the international community NOT to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
The United Nations Security Council passed Resolution 478 on 20 August 1980, which declared that the Basic Law is "a violation of international law", is "null and void and must be rescinded forthwith". Member states were called upon to withdraw their diplomatic representation from Jerusalem. Following the resolution, 22 of the 24 countries that previously had their embassy in (West) Jerusalem relocated them in Tel Aviv, where many embassies already resided prior to Resolution 478. Costa Rica and San Salvador followed in 2006.
Currently, there are no embassies located within the city limits of Jerusalem, although there are embassies in Mevaseret Zion, on the outskirts of Jerusalem, and four consulates in the city itself.
In 1995, the United States Congress passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act, which required, subject to conditions, that its embassy be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. However,
U.S. presidents have argued that Congressional resolutions regarding the status of Jerusalem are merely advisory. The
Constitution reserves foreign relations as an executive power, and
as such, the United States embassy is still in Tel Aviv. Due to the non-recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, some non-Israeli press use Tel Aviv as a metonym for Israel.
On 28 October 2009, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon warned that Jerusalem must be the capital of both Israel and Palestine if peace is to be achieved.
Capital of PalestineSee also: East Jerusalem § Jerusalem as capital
Orient House in East Jerusalem. Important Palestinian political and diplomatic center, closed by Israel in 2001The
Palestinian National Authority views East Jerusalem as occupied territory according to United Nations Security Council Resolution 242. The
Palestinian Authority claims Jerusalem, including the Haram al-Sharif, as the capital of the State of Palestine. The
PLO claims that West Jerusalem is also subject to permanent status negotiations. However, it has stated that it
would be willing to consider alternative solutions, such as making Jerusalem an open city.
The
PLO's current position is that East Jerusalem,
as defined by the pre-1967 municipal boundaries,
shall be the capital of Palestine and West Jerusalem the capital of Israel, with
each state enjoying full sovereignty over its respective part of the city and with its own municipality. A joint development council would be responsible for coordinated development.
Some states, such as Russia and China, recognize the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
UN General Assembly resolution 58/292 affirmed that the Palestinian people have the right to sovereignty over East Jerusalem.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem#Political_statusAnd THAT is what this is ALL about: Jerusalem. If the Israelis can CONFIDE the Palestinians, then ELIMINATE them, they can claim FULL possession of Jerusalem... and rebuild the temple (formerly) there. Right now, Muslims own the temple land, with the Jews holding the western wall:
Quote:
Jerusalem has been sacred to Judaism for roughly 3000 years, to Christianity for around 2000 years, and to Islam for approximately 1400 years. The 2000 Statistical Yearbook of Jerusalem lists 1204 synagogues, 158 churches, and 73 mosques within the city. Despite efforts to maintain peaceful religious coexistence,
some sites, such as the Temple Mount, have been a continuous source of friction and controversy.Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Jerusalem has been sacred to the Jews since King David proclaimed it his capital in the 10th century BCE. Jerusalem was the site of Solomon's Temple and the Second Temple.
Although not mentioned in the Torah / Pentateuch, it is
mentioned in the Bible 632 times. Today, the Western Wall, a remnant of the wall surrounding the Second Temple, is a Jewish holy site second only to the Holy of Holies on the Temple Mount itself. Synagogues around the world are traditionally built with the Holy Ark facing Jerusalem, and Arks within Jerusalem face the "Holy of Holies".
As prescribed in the Mishna and codified in the Shulchan Aruch, daily prayers are recited while facing towards Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. Many Jews have "Mizrach" plaques hung on a wall of their homes to indicate the direction of prayer.
Christianity reveres Jerusalem for its Old Testament history, and also for its significance in the life of Jesus. According to the New Testament, Jesus was brought to Jerusalem soon after his birth and later in his life cleansed the Second Temple. The Cenacle, believed to be the site of Jesus' Last Supper, is located on Mount Zion in the same building that houses the Tomb of King David. Another prominent Christian site in Jerusalem is Golgotha, the site of the crucifixion. The Gospel of John describes it as being located outside Jerusalem, but recent archaeological evidence suggests Golgotha is a short distance from the Old City walls, within the present-day confines of the city. The land currently occupied by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is considered one of the top candidates for Golgotha and thus has been a Christian pilgrimage site for the past 2000 years.
The Temple MountJerusalem is the third-holiest city in Islam. For approximately a year, before it was permanently switched to the Kaaba in Mecca, the qibla (direction of prayer) for Muslims was Jerusalem. The city's lasting place in Islam, however, is primarily due to Muhammad's Night of Ascension (c. CE 620). Muslims believe Muhammad was miraculously transported one night from Mecca to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, whereupon he ascended to Heaven to meet previous prophets of Islam.
The first verse in the Qur'an's Surat al-Isra notes the destination of Muhammad's journey as al-Aqsa (the farthest) mosque, in reference to the location in Jerusalem.
The hadith, the recorded sayings of the Prophet Mohammad, name Jerusalem as the location of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Today, the Temple Mount is topped by an Islamic landmark intended to commemorate the event — al-Aqsa Mosque, derived from the name mentioned in the Qur'an, and also the place from which Muslims believe Muhammad ascended to Heaven.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem# ... gnificanceALL of this is about Israel's INSISTENCE on possessing ALL of Jerusalem, DESPITE the UN/world's position that they only have WEST Jerusalem with EAST Jerusalem belonging to the Palestinians... and the U.S. got itself even MORE involved (because they were instrumental in the establishment of the Israel state in the FIRST place to assuage their guilt for not taking MORE Jews after WWII)... when Congress passed the Jerusalem Act.
With the US' backing, the JEWS believe that have a RIGHT to ALL of Jerusalem... and have been insidiously trying to TAKE it, since the (unauthorized and globaly unaccepted) proclamation of the "Basic Law." When the Palestinians started fighting BACK... they were accused of fighting against "God's people." Of course, those who believe THAT forget/dismiss the Jews actions against christians way back when (which is easy to forget, given what "christians" have done since).
But you see, in order to understand what's TRULY going on... one has to go back through the HISTORY leading UP to it. Just going by what one sees/hears TODAY is insufficient. It paints only a part of the story and a poorly painted picture, at that. It is not ACCURATE... and in THESE instances, accuracy is (almost) everything.
Not to say either side is JUSTIFIED in that they are doing... but to have an opinion with way, without considering the FACTS, puts one in a poor position. As my dear Lord, the Congregator (Teacher who Gathers) said:
"He who answers a matter before he hears the facts—it is folly and shame to him." Proverbs 18:13I was first acclimated to this conflict after the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, where Palestinian rebels took hostage and killed Israeli athletes. That event set the world on end... and so it was talked about EVERYWHERE. Rather than focus on what was happening as to MY culture (post-Civil Rights Movement), which GREATLY affected MY life, we focused on this event in school.
Over the years I'd let the matter go (what did it matter to ME?)... until I learned from my dear Lord "who" the "Palestinians" TRULY are: they, too, are Israel/the seed of Abraham. They are descended from the 10-tribe kingdom of Israel (vs. the 2-tribe kingdom of Judah... the Y'hudi/Jews)... and/or Ishmael. Hence, these people, ALL of them... are brothers, by blood.
And that is MOST important. Because brother... is not only delivering UP... but killing... brother. And that is something those who belong to Christ need to keep note of. Not to say it means anything NOW... but, well, one never knows. Y'know?
I hope this helps!
Again, peace to you!
YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,
Shellamar
