Oh, no, luv (peace!)... no, no, no, no. Absolutely, totally wrong, that. It was because they DIDN'T have that power that they TOOK my dear Lord to Pilate... then to Herod... then back to Pilate... and had the ROMANS kill him. They had neither the power... nor the CAHONES... to do it, themselves. Had they TAKEN that power... and just killed him... they would have been guilty (before the PEOPLE) of murder. The people would have then turned on THEM... and had THEM tried and impaled. Surely you read where they were unwilling to risk any of THAT.

No, dear one, they didn't have that power. At all. The only power they had was that which they used to influence the people. Which was LIES, DECEIT, FALSEHOOD, and FALSE witness. Of course, they wielded THAT with (some) power... but it was underhanded. Not rightout, forthright, and transparent. So, the "power" was merely an illusion... which the BLIND PEOPLE... fell for. Very similar to what believing JWs are doing... and do.
