SO sad. I HATE to say this but there IS some truth in the saying that "the oppressed often BECOME the oppressor," dear ANOMOS (peace to you!). That has actually been Israel's problem all along! It is one of the main reasons JAH had problems with them. They were released from slavery in Egypt and... rather than be GRATEFUL... they immediately began to complain, to take issue with Moses... to murmur AGAINST the very God who brought them OUT.
Then, over time, rather than show the MERCY that the law called for, especially toward one another (not Jews to Jews, although THAT became a problem during the time our dear Lord walked among them), but Israelites that were JEWS against Israelites that were NOT Jews. And vice versa.
They keep setting themselves up in OPPOSITION to JAH... because of trusting in THEMSELVES (that they are righteous) and by ignoring HIM as to how they are to receive their land/conquer their enemies. It is NOT by military might... but by JAH'S hand. When they learn this... and learn Who it is the REPRESENTS that "right" hand...
But, ah, well... what can you say? Israel is just acting like Israel...
Sigh.
Peace!
Your servant and a slave of Christ,
Shellamar
